Please note: The Gardens' staff requires at least two weeks advance notice to book a field trip. The Gardens are able to accommodate 70 youth per field trip. We request one adult chaperone for every 15 youth. There is no charge for adult chaperones.
Tree-mendous Treasure Hunt: 90 minutes
Explore trees through this treasure hunt themed program. Students will travel from station to station to explore ecosystem history through the rings of trees, the gifts that trees give us, how a tree’s structure and the functions of their parts are just like us, and the mystery behind pine cones while their plant their very own tree seed.
Seed-centric Scientists: 90 minutes
Every wonder about seeds? How they work, what is inside, how they move and why they taste so good? Come explore seeds inside and out as you dissect, collect, categorize based on characteristics, and plant your very own seed.
Plant-Palooza: 90 minutes
From the smallest seed to the tallest flower, plants feed us, clothe us, heal us and inspire us. How does something so small become so important? Students will learn about the life cycle of a plant including how they make their own food. Then as plant professors and horticulturalist they will teach their peers about a new plant and plant their very own plant to take home.
Pollinators Among Us: 90 minutes
During this program students put on their citizen science hats and the role of pollinators in food production, the process of pollination, our local pollinators, and how we can help support pollinators at our homes. Students will plant a pollinator’s favorite plant to take home.
