FAQ for SOLE Teachers
Q: How do I begin scheduling field trips or other programs?
A: Please take a look at our Program Options Guide for instructions and to see your field trip options. Fill out the Program Planner form (sent to SOLE teachers at the beginning of the school year) to let us know your plans. If you'd like to use any field trip sites that are not currently listed as one of our partners, you MUST get approval from before moving forward.
Q: What are you doing to support SOLE schools with the current health guidelines and needs for social distancing?
A: We are moving forward in supporting our SOLE schools this year. We plan to fund virtual programs, field trips or in class programs if your school is allowing it, outdoor family workshops, and other resources such as lesson materials or supplies as it relates to your teaching of environmental education, science, and Colorado history. Please let us know if you have particular needs or other ideas and we are happy to look into it.
Q: How can I get more information on your virtual resources and what you are offering?
A: We have plenty of self-guided and SOLE staff-guided options! Please visit our Educator Resources page.
Q: What is a Family Nature Night?
A: Family Nature Night is a 2 hour informal festival style event at your school where we invite students and their entire family. We will run the entire event and bring in archery, backyard bass casting, pizza and an outdoor prize raffle. We also ask our local Partners to bring fun and educational activities. It runs after school hours on a week night. NOTE: Dependent on health guidelines, these may or may not be offered.
Q: How do we prepare for Family Nature Night?
A: Please make sure you have the gym, cafeteria, and hallways free and available for this event. We will need these spaces available for set-up starting 75 minutes before the event starts and 30 minutes after the event for take-down.
Q: How can we advertise for Family Nature Night?
A: To advertise for Family Nature Night, the SOLE Team will send you specially made flyers for your event that you can put on your website, email to parents and send home with students. We encourage you to also add in the information to parent newsletters, morning announcements, text/email blasts, etc. We will send flyers to you 1-2 weeks before your Family Nature Night.
